Digital Media Content Specialist

Research shows that when exploring universities, prospective students want to hear directly from current students about their college experience. Therefore, the Marketing and Communications Team of the Enrollment Division is seeking a student content specialist for its Digital Media Internship Program. The student will brainstorm, create and publish engaging content to the Division’s digital media outlets including its blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts, as well as aid in the development of digital marketing campaigns for the Enrollment Division.

In addition to providing real workplace experience where students sharpen their skills, the Enrollment Division’s Digital Media Internship Program will also give students the opportunity to meet and learn from others in the industry within and outside of the Notre Dame community.

Responsibilities include:
• Attend mandatory team meetings as scheduled and proactively request alternative meetings when scheduling conflicts arise
• Meet deadlines as established
• Brainstorm, create and publish unique content for the Enrollment Division’s digital media accounts
• Take and post photos to create a visual expression that complements written reflections for blog entries
• Create and edit short video content to be used for digital media accounts
• Ensure that content is relevant to the academic, spiritual, and extracurricular pursuits at the University
• Maintain an authentic and personable tone as the student should not try to replicate the tone and/or language used on any of the Enrollment Division's websites
• Respond to questions and comments submitted in response to posts
• Learn and maintain compliance with social media guidelines as determined by University

Students receive $15 an hour for this position.

Qualifications

• Reliable and able to make a commitment to this role throughout the 2024-2025 school year
• Familiarity creating photo and short form video content for Instagram and TikTok reels
• Ability to communicate effectively with prospective students of all backgrounds
• Possesses proficient ability to share reflections via storytelling
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and written English skills, including grammar and spelling
• Demonstrate familiarity with computer technology; experience with Adobe Creative Suite desired though not required
• Be active in campus life and programs
• Exhibits maturity and institutes discretion in content creation and responses to comments
• Possess good time management and organization skills
• Proactive and demonstrates initiative to create engaging, new content

Hours/time needed: The student will have the flexibility to brainstorm and create content at their convenience. However, the student must be able to spend 1 to 2 hours per week during regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.; 1:00-5:00 p.m.)
